We put Nana and Bop on a plane New Year's Eve night...almost into 2014. They technically left at 1 am on the first. We had a great time and were so thankful for special time together. It was so sad though as the time approached for the kids to say goodbye and got to bed, they got really sad. Poor Bennett broke down in tears...surprising us all, as he was the one I would least likely have predicted to do that. Austin said " can they live with us?" A reminder that living far from loved ones is not easy and not easy on our kids at times like this. I am thankful for our time, but wanting to help us all process that it is hard to say good bye sometimes and that is ok!
Here are a few other things we did while they were here. Now they are living it up in Paris for a few days before they get back to Richmond. Bop especially was not feeling great when they left- hoping he recovered quickly.

Good bye
Got to all see Chris at one of his concerts..Lucy was all decked out in a cute Christmas outfit from Nai Nai.
Austin was especially excited to take Bop to the Bird's Nest. He really wanted to go inside with Bop but it was closed for a ski jumping competition. Maybe next time?
Christmas Eve morning we had the privilege to visit a foster home for kids with special needs...it was a special time to bless some precious children and be reminded of what it is all about.
We made it to the aquarium for a fun outing...the kids' favorite part is the dolphin/seal/beluga whale show. Lucy especially could appreciate it this time around.
Lots of reading books of course!
Our last day we went to the Science Museum and got to revisit the space section we went to on Austin's birthday. Austin and Bennett are prepared for take off!
Life is back to normal now...for about 10 days. School is back in session till January 10. Then are here for a little while and then off for some travel in warmer places. It has been a really mild winter so I can't complain but still looking forward to some warmer weather.
